Andrea Pantano

Bio: Hello! My name is Andrea and I'm a student at Umass Amherst. I'm starting this blog as a summer project for me and my boyfriend, Josh (aka my photographer). My goal is to create a personal style blog which reflects my love for many different styles (classic.. boho..xyz) in a way that is creative and fun but also wearable for the average college girl. I hope you enjoy!

  1. Hi Andrea!

I somehow stumbled across your blog while looking for reviews of TOMS this evening. I am looking at purchasing my very first pair! I have read all sorts of stories on various websites about TOMS making feet really sweaty so I have been hesitant to buy a pair in the past. Has this been your experience with TOMS or are your feet always sweat-free when you wear them?

Fantastic website, by the way! You have a new fan!

    1. Hello Sarah,

Thanks so much! I’m glad you like the blog! As for TOMS, they are super lightweight and comfy in the summer. The issue for me has been that the sole of the shoe is super absorbent so even though my feet don’t feel sweaty, the shoes do get a little stinky after wearing them in the heat. So if you decide to get a pair, be prepared to do some upkeep in the de-stink department. Hope this helps!

      1. Oh no! Thank you so much for your honesty! It does not seem as though TOMS are the shoes for me as I would feel really embarrassed to take my TOMS off in front of my family and friends, only to have them notice the smell of my feet! Gah! Has this ever happened to you with TOMS?

I am sorry for the somewhat personal question, but do you have any odor problems with any of your other shoes or flats, or is it just due to the material that the insoles of TOMS are made of? How do they compare to ballerina flats and canvas shoes like Converse, Keds and Vans in the ‘odor department’?

      2. I literally had to flip them upside down to hide the odor at my boyfriend’s parent’s house before! I’ve never had the problem with my Converse or Vans, maybe because I wear socks with them? And I don’t have issues with flats either, granted flats aren’t my typical walking around outside shoes. I’ve noticed that my Sperry’s never stink up even though I wear them without socks in the heat and I think it’s because mine have a leather sole instead of the foam-y material TOMS have.
